And it marks that phrase as used and discards it from being used to log in on another device or at a different time. This probably has some kind of timeout that after 10 mins will expire and you do back to step 1. This doesn’t integrate your two accounts it just gives notion your email to send the code.Īfter they have your email they generate a random pass phrase and send it to you. I choose to just have them send it through email and just gave them my google account. When you do this notion and google share information, I’m not sure how much. There are two ways to do this the first is integrating your google account. Notion asks you to sign in using an email. PS: I'm happy to hear that you're working on P/W login too!įrom my interactions with notion I believe this might be a high level view of what goes on. I don't know if my current workspace will load if I login with my google account, but I suppose that it'll take it as a new user with an empty workspace. Two hours ago, my Laptop's Notion also auto-updated, and I haven't received any emails again! Now I afraid that I'll encounter the same on my desktop's Notion, and this is the last one I have to work on! But he also never received any emails with the 'temporary code' too. I've tried to login 2-3 times, on the following days, both from Chrome and by trying to install it on my Tablet, but with no luck! Yesterday morning, a friend that works at the same office with me, encountered the Notion's auto-update, so it kicked him out and had to login again. A week ago I've tried to login on Notion's Chrome addon, but I've never received any emails with the 'temporary code', (nor to spam folder). I've logged-in successfully on my desktop and laptop, using "continue with email". I've only been a Notion user for a month, using it for my work's Tasks. Working through issues now with support. At this point I'm very frustrated and am starting to suspect that the app's login process has some serious bugs. And now all my devices have kicked me out yet again. They haven't indicated that they are looking into my account in case there is an issue (I requested that they do so). I've been communicating with the service team who has been quiet for a day now.2fA seems ideal but would at least love a saved password. Would love to have a modern login process. ![]() I really enjoy Notion otherwise, but given that Notion arbitrarily logs me out, I'm just find myself running into this login inconvenience regularly. I find it sort of baffling why notion has decided to create their own strange "solution" to the login process in 2019 which provides a reliably less convenient experience every time you login. It feels like the process used in a demo environment that was never completed. I've not encountered another professional service that uses a login process like Notion. ![]() All the while sort of frustrated that the work I did to make the list was wasted. I'm trying to be quick in stores and the email code sometimes takes a while to arrive so I end up abandoning the list and trying to remember everything. It's a pretty substantial disruption to the efficiency of using the app at all. But I can't just log in, I have to have them send me a temporary code to my email address, wait for the code to arrive, then login to that email service, grab the temporary code, return to notion and enter the code to login. I will update my grocery list, run out to the store, and try to read the list on my iOS app only to have Notion.so request that I login. There is one glaring problem I continue to face: the login process. I have paid for membership and used it for about 6+ months. I've been using notion and have really enjoyed it for the most part.
